Voting Info

How do I vote?  Where do I vote?  Can I vote by mail?  Can I vote early?

REGISTRATION

All voters must be registered before voting.  Registration is easy and can be done by mail or in person.  You may register up to and including election day.  Not sure if you are registered?  Click here to check your Wisconsin voter registration online at the official voter database.

Registration is easy.  FIRST find the contact information for your local Clerk’s office.  Click here for a list of all the Municipal clerks in the 30th Assembly District.   NEXT either stop at the Clerk’s office or download a registration form and mail it to your Clerk (with a postmark by October 13th).   Miss the mail deadline?  You can still register in person up to 5pm the day before the election or just register on Election Day (check below for the acceptable proof of residency you’ll need to bring with you).

EARLY VOTING & ABSENTEE VOTING

Can’t get to the polling place on Tuesday, November 2nd?  Would you rather vote at your convenience on your day off in October and avoid the lines on election day?  You may want to vote early or by absentee ballot.  Every voter has the right to vote early or absentee without needing any special reason or excuse.

EARLY VOTING begins as soon as the ballots are prepared, usually by about October 10th.  You may want to call or email your clerk before visiting the office to vote.  Once at the office you will apply in person for an absentee ballot, then you must vote immediately, seal your ballot in the proper envelope, and return it to a member of the clerk’s staff.  You are done.

ABSENTEE VOTING involves requesting an absentee ballot be sent to you by mail.  The ballot must be witnessed and returned to the Clerk in time for counting on Election Night, November 2nd at 8pm.  A voter may request that a ballot be sent to them by sending an e-mail or fax to their municipal clerk.  Or download the Application for an Absentee Ballot by clicking here, then mail it back to your clerk.  If your request is received by email, you’ll still need to complete the written application form and return it with your completed ballot with an original signature.
